About Blenkinsop Opticians

Professional opticians in Goole.

Blenkinsop Opticians and Audiologists is a family-run independent business that has served the Goole community for over 30 years. The welfare of our community is what drives us to be the best at what we do, and our welcoming environment and professionalism have guaranteed our longevity thus far.

We appreciate that everybody’s visual and hearing needs are different, and it’s important that our patients feel listened to, understood, and receive the personalised care they deserve.

We are grateful for our fiercely loyal patients and hope to continue to welcome them and new patients alike in years to come by providing the most in-depth, thorough and enjoyable eye care and hearing care that our industry can offer.

Meet the team.

Jemima Keene

Principle Optometrist & Director

Jemima is our lead clinical optometrist and, since qualifying in 2011, has many years of experience in independent community practice. She also has years of experience in fitting specialist contact lenses for secondary care services, providing eyecare services in high-security prisons and performing domiciliary eye examinations in her community.

She recently completed a national fellowship in Public Health with the NHS, focussing on improving community eyecare services for homeless populations across Yorkshire. Alongside this she is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Public Health.

Jemima has worked at the practice since 2020 and has recently been appointed as director. She hopes to preserve the homely and independent, yet highly professional and skilled, service that Blenkinsop Opticians has sustained for over 30 years.
